This “airbag” seems like a great idea until you’re laying in your bed looking at your phone and you drop it on your face. Other than those times, it probably would come in handy.
The design includes a thin protective case that has been outfitted with sensors that detect the free fall of a phone. While its in the air, metal springs deploy to soften the fall. Once you’ve collected your un-cracked phone from the floor, you can then easily put them back in place.
The case was designed by Philip Frenzel, who is going to be launching a Kickstarter campaign in July.
