Best Game: 1986 Playoffs – Round 1, Game 2 vs. Boston Celtics
Michael Jordan’s best performance in the Air Jordan 1, the shoe that started it all, came against the 1985-86 Celtics. During the 1986 playoffs, Jordan scored a record 63 points in a double-overtime loss to Larry Bird and the Celtics. The record still stands as the most points scored in a single playoff game. After the game, Bird was quoted saying “I think it’s just God disguised as Michael Jordan.” Many people consider this Larry Bird-lead team to be one of the best teams ever, making MJ’s historic performance even more impressive.
