adidas Originals just recently opened a flagship store in London. This store is the second of what will be six new stores coming to major cities around the globe. The next stores are planned to be opened in Seoul, Moscow, New York, and Paris. adidas Originals previously opened a flagship store in Shanghai about a month ago.
Today, adidas announced that they have a partnership with the overall number 1 draft pick, Andrew Wiggins. With Wiggins being no stranger to adidas gear thanks to his time spent at KU, it’s not too surprising that he went with the “three stripes” over the guys behind “the swoosh.” Sources say the multi-year deal comes with at least $2 million guaranteed annually, and the overall contract in the $10-12 million range. Hopefully we get to see a Wiggins signature model in the near future.
adidas Originals has introduced the newest member of their SL family, the SL Loop runner. The shoe features a very lightweight upper, and a sculpted concave midsole. Looks for these to start hitting retailers on July 1st.

adidas just released their new miCoach Smart Ball on their online shop. The Smart Ball helps you track how hard it’s been hit, the flight trajectory, and the ball spin all on the accompanying application for iPhone or iPod Touch. The ball is available here.
adidas Originals is bringing back their mi adidas customizing tool in celebration of the ultra-popular ZX Flux silhouette. The coolest thing about the re-launch of the mi adidas customization program is the new high-resolution print app that allows iPhone and Android users to apply their own pictures to the ZX Flux. This should make for some crazy creations. Just imagine the possibilities.
adidas has really been shaking things up with a lot of recent releases. I’ve been really impressed with the silhouettes and materials they’ve been introducing. This is the ZX 900 Weave, and there’s 5 new colorways that release for this year’s Spring/Summer season. These are available now at Foot Locker Europe.
This past weekend, KC Sole held their 2nd sneaker show called KC Sneakfest. I was a little disappointed I missed out on last year’s event, but luckily got to go experience it this year. Walking into the Kansas City Municipal Building, I didn’t really know what to expect, and was amazed from the moment I walked in. Loud music, a concession stand that included tall boy cans of beer, and best of all…. SHOES.
adidas recently released their new “Made in March” jerseys. We will probably first see these uniforms worn at the Regional Tournaments, and then of course in the March Madness Tournament. To everyone’s delight, they left out the camo this year and went with a more modest approach.
