There’s been two things that you guys have been wanting for awhile now. One has been an iPhone app (unfortunately that’s not the one you’re getting today), and two, Sneakhype merchandise. We just launched our online shop, and have some dope gear available for purchase.
Last week in Switzerland, a team of physicists activated the CERN Large Hadron Collider and identified evidence of the Higgs Boson particle, a formerly theoretical component of the “Standard Model” of the universe, which purports to explain why matter possesses mass.1 They celebrated their discovery the way people the world over celebrate anything: they downed a bunch of shots of tequila.2 . We at Sneakhype salute these scientists who have dedicated their lives to uncovering the mysteries of the cosmos and we approve of their drink of choice. As you’ll see in future entries in this column, tequila is a favorite of ours as well and we don’t require anything as momentous as a Nobel to throw some down.3 In fact, give us a bottle of Avión Reposado tequila and that’s cause for celebration enough (we’ll take a shot glass and some tabasco sauce too, thanks). But say you’re trying to up the ante a bit and want to demonstrate your mixological prowess? In that case, shots won’t work and simply tossing tequila and orange juice together and calling it a day won’t do, either. Really, this is stuff to be savored, combined with muddled ingredients, topped with a garnish, and… More →
Sneakhypers, these are interesting, fast-changing times we’re living in. To name but a few of the most prominently curious features of the present landscape, holographic Tupac may soon surpass real (but deceased) Tupac in fame1; our economy is powered entirely by iPhone apps2 (yes, these are footnotes); and two of the most potent corporate forces on Earth (those being Frito-Lay and Yum! Brands, Inc.) have partnered to give the American people something we’ve somehow always wanted but haven’t been able to envision until now, the Taco Bell Doritos Locos Tacos.3 So, yes, things are interesting. And sometimes, in times like these, we all need to take a step back and chill out and have a god damn drink. This is, of course, where we at Sneakhype can be of some assistance. Over the coming months, two guest editors new to Sneakhype (T-Ro and myself, DBS) will provide you with some advice about the particular cocktails that will juice your goose with the Drink of the Week. This week’s DOW: The Brojito. The scenario is as follows: it’s a hot summer evening and you approach the bar looking not only for a stiff cocktail, but also for some refreshment. We want… More →
This is the first edition of a new series we will hopefully be bringing to you more often in the future. We share a lot of products with you guys, and we felt a need to accent some of the items we really enjoy. Without further ado, I present you with the Sneakhype Select Series….
Tomorrow. Sometime after Hump Day Dopeness Part I and sometime before Part II, the highly anticipated collaboration will be available for sale online. The pieces are available in limited quantities.
Well it’s 10:00 pm on Jan 1, and I’m just now recovering from last night. Last night we partied at @TonicLawrence and it was one for the ages. I only have a few pics… If you were there and have more pics, email submit(at)sneakhype.com or tweet them and tag @Sneakhype and we’ll try to include them in some Dopeness galleries throughout the week.
Sneakhype is back at it with another great giveaway. This time, 2 winners will each receive a set of Phiaton PS 20 Bluetooth wireless headphones ($150 each). These headphones deliver unparalleled sound quality, allowing you to listen to music and make phone calls wirelessly via Bluetooth. Basically, you’ll be a boss rocking 150 dollar wireless headphones.
Your 3rd favorite SNEAKHYPE author – tsech – celebrates his birfday today. Show this little douchenoggin how much you appreciate his Dopeness delivery by following his ass on Twitter: @ty_sechler. (you can unfollow him tomorrow, it’s fine) Happy Birthday buddy! You’re the man.
Sneakhypers – a heads up from headquarters. We just installed Facebook comments onto the site. We got tired of feeling like no one was looking at our posts, so we’re hoping that a familiar Facebook interface might entice you to become more engaged. We would love to hear your thoughts in the, well… comments section. What do you think? Good? Bad? Like the old system better?
