Christie’s just announced that they will auctioning off what is most likely the last privately-owned painting by Leonardo da Vinci. It was originally discovered back in 1909 and is currently owned by a private collector. The auction is scheduled for November 15th and will take place in Rockefeller Plaza, New York City. The painting, which is an oil painting of Jesus Christ that has been titled Salvator Mundi, has been valued at $100 million.
Before Christie’s holds the auction, they will display the artwork in several major cities around the world, including San Francisco, London, and Hong Kong.
