The adidas Parley Ocean Plastic X UltraBOOST has been teased by the Three Stripes for months now. But it looks like the environmentally friendly kicks are finally going to get a proper release. Adidas just announced that they would be mass-producing a collection made out of recycled plastic.
The new line is highlighted by the UltraBOOST Uncaged that boasts a knitted upper crafted from 95% Parley Ocean Plastic and 5% recycled polyester. The laces, heel webbing, lining, and footbed are also made out of recycled materials.
In addition to the UltraBOOST, adidas is making football jerseys for two of the world’s biggest football clubs (Real Madrid and Bayern Munich) out Parley Ocean Plastic material. The jerseys even feature environmentally friendly, water-based prints.
Seven thousand pairs of the Parley x adidas UltraBOOST Uncaged will be available from adidas.com/parley later this month. Select retailers will also be carrying the collection.
