The Air Jordan III “True Blue” was originally released way back in 1988 and it quickly became a fan favorite. It has since been retroed by Nike several times. The most recent version of which was released on Black Friday, 2016. The Air Jordan III “True Blue” is (inexplicably) still available for purchase from some retailers, including Kicks USA.
It’s amazing that these are still available, given the history of the Air Jordan 3 sneaker. The AJ3 was the first Air Jordan sneaker to be designed by the man, the myth, the legend – Tinker Hatfield. It was on this shoe that the “Jumpman” logo was first introduced. A visible air unit and the iconic elephant print were also introduced via this model. To put it lightly, this was the sneaker that changed the sneaker game forever.
It was originally released in a total four color ways. The standout of the bunch was the “True Blue” colorway. Unlike the rest of the original AJ3 colorways, the True Blues ventured away from the red/black theme that were common on MJ’s signature shoes, which made it an instant classic.
