On Monday, NASA released the first photos taken by their brand new weather satellite – GOES-16. The satellite, which was launched last November in effort to provide more accurate forecasts, is also equipped with a bad ass camera that was able to capture the stunning photos below. The detail of the images is unlike any we’ve seen from weather satellites in the past. The good news is that GOES-16 is the first of 4 weather satellites that will be providing images of the entire earth from orbit. Expect more images of Earth coming soon.
