Located in the middle of the desert just south of Las Vegas are 7 brightly painted stacks of boulders – each of which standing nearly 30-feet tall. These “Seven Magic Mountains” rock formations were created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone.
The towers are situated in a manner that makes them appear to be lined up neatly in a row when viewed from one angle, and grouped together in a cluster when viewed from a different angle. Each piece is constructed out of 3-6 giant pieces of locally-sourced limestone that have been painted in a variety of colors. The brightly painted pieces are in stark contrast to the surrounding terrain, which makes for some really great Instagram pictures.
“Seven Magic Mountains” will be on display until May of 2018.
