Artist Willard Wigans’ amazing sculptures are so small that they can only be seen through a microscope. Each microscopic sculpture usually sits inside the eye of a needle or a pinhead. When working on his sculptures, Wigans’ enters a meditative state in which he slows his heart beat, reduces his hand tremors, and sculpts between heart beats. Apparently even the reverberations caused from the traffic outside can affect Wigans’ work so he usually works through the night.
